While Southgate Valuations has  been providing Tararua District property valuations for 35+ years, Wilson Valuations has specialised in the Central Hawke’s Bay property market for the previous 12 years.

Mel Wilson

Registered Approved Panel Valuer

Mel Wilson has over 20 years experience, specialising in property in the fields of valuation, management and consulting. Mel is a Registered Valuer and a Crown Accredited Supplier who over the last ten years has specialised in valuation & negotiations for Public Works Act 1981 Transactions and providing strategic property advice to core clients including the Crown.
Mel brings specialist skills in valuation, compensation and negotiations and is goal focused in achieving positive outcomes for her clients.  Her areas of expertise include:

  • Registered Valuer with expertise in residential, lifestyle, small rural, commerce  and industrial insurance and Compensation & Asset Valuations
  • Project Management and Infrastructure Projects

  • Disposal of Surplus Property

Formal Qualifications:

Mel has a Bachelor of Business Studies (Valuation & Property Management) from Massey University, and is a Registered Public Valuer. She is a Member of the Property Institute of New Zealand and is an Accredited Land Acquisition Agent by Land Information New Zealand for compensation and acquisition.

Mel Wilson lives in Central Hawkes Bay with her husband Cam Wilson. He is a local farmer who takes great pride in his ‘Texel Sheep Stud’ selling stud rams. Cam is also a local contractor specialising in earthworks.

Mel has three beautiful children, Jack – 10 years old, Millie – 8 years old & Maggie being a 5-year-old who is just starting school. All three children attend a local primary school.
